Space Truck

When the morale of the troops was getting really low, our commanding officer insisted we do something to improve attitudes. What could we do out alone in the desert? Someone suggested putting an ad in the army news paper offering to hire comedians for a tour of military bases overseas. Would anyone even want to apply for such a job? How appreciative we were when not one, but hundreds of people responded to our advertisement. We were able to choose a variety of wonderful performers who came and lifted our spirits. For a few hours, we seemed to be living in a normal environment. That helped us remember why we were there, and that made all the difference.
