Space Truck

This was the weekend that we took on the deck project. The original footings weren’t poured correctly, so it had begun to lean pretty bad toward the southwest corner. Apparently some of the structure sits on the wall of an old rain cistern too. We’d finally used an Angies List promotional code to get on there and find a local contractor to take a look at it. He got it jacked up and poured new footings last week so we could have a stable structure to finish out. Most of what we did was ripping out the rail and decking and replacing all that.

It’s still not quite as large as we’d like, but at least we’ve got a place to sit outside and drink wine in the evening. Come visit when you can!
