Uncommon Real Estate Investments

There are the usual real estate investments, like rental homes, raw land and fixer-upper houses. Then there are the less common ones, like the following:
Buy, harvest and sell land. Often a wooded piece of property will sell for the same amount even if half the trees are gone, because the ultimate buyer will be clearing them for a house in any case. The opportunity here is to buy the land cheap, sell the trees to a lumberyard, and then sell the land. A friend of mine sold the trees off of two acres for several thousand dollars, select-cut by the lumber company so you could hardly tell the difference when they were finished. To get a higher price when selling afterwards, offer easy terms and finance the sale yourself. You will also get good interest income in this way.
