Great Musical Birthday Gift Idea

July 7th, 2009 by admin

I have this nephew who has been listening to all kinds of classic rock Cd’s lately.  It’s so funny to hear him sing songs that I used to sing when I was a kid.  It’s not bad, I just think that it’s funny.  On top of all that he goes around the house pretending to play the bass. I am not sure why the bass and not the guitar, but I think it’s awesome.  Because of this I am looking for a cheap bass guitar that I could get him for his birthday.  I know that it would just make his year if I could find him one.

Putting Together Music For The Anniversary Celebration

June 28th, 2009 by admin

Cindy wanted to know if I had any resources for free online music. She’s been trying to put together a playlist for the anniversary celebration, but they’ve got her on a limited budget. I told her we ought to just have everybody bring their own CDs but she was a little leery of that because you never know what you’re gonna get in a situation like that. She’s probably right. I can just imagine Jeremy showing up with all of his Death Metal crap or something like that. Not to mention the Rap Stuff.

I do have a few sites I know of that allow free downloads so we’ll take a look at that first. I might spring for an iTunes gift card if she needs a few tracks to round things out.

Shooting in the Dark with the Nikon D5000

June 26th, 2009 by admin

Have you ever snapped a great photo only to not be able to see it later?  Most film-worthy visions do not happen in the best of light, so it is important for you to have a camera that doesn’t need the best of lighting.  The camera  must operate at low lumens in order to take the beautiful shot of your flower garden at dusk without using a flash.  In comparison tests, the Nikon D5000 ranked above other cameras of similar stature by maintaining brightness of color at low lumens.  Beautiful scenes unfold in the dark, so don’t miss them with a poor camera.

Where do you watch videos?

June 13th, 2009 by admin

My video compatible ipod is stacked with so many videos that I can’t keep up with watching them all in the available time I have left at the end of the day. And that’s what gets to me, the number of videos available is growing all the time and before long it will be impossible for me to watch videos, keep up with the output, and get anything done at all!

I am going to have to organise myself, particularly with the summer seasonal work coming up that will likely eat even more into my leisure time. So I am looking out for some ind of filtering tool, a software application perhaps, that can help me monitor and selectively download new video for watching later, so I don’t have to keep chasing the ever growing backlog.

Banish Cookie Cutter Carbon Copy Wedding Ideas

June 11th, 2009 by admin

One of the biggest wedding worries that brides and grooms have is, “we don’t want our wedding to mesh into all our other friend’s weddings and to be completely indistinguishable from the next.” Wedding traditions are just that, they are traditions because it’s traditional for everyone to do them.unique wedding ideas But you can mix it up. We had one couple where we surprised the guests with a reversed itinerary wedding (dinner first, ceremony at sunset). You could serve dessert first during the cocktail hour. Speeches could happen in between dances with everyone crowded on the dance floor. Switching up the wedding traditions really throws your guests for a loop and they love it!

Most Canvas Print Companies Have a Quick Turnaround for Delivery

May 21st, 2009 by admin

One of the good things about getting a canvas print is that it does not take a long time before you can hang your photo on the wall. Most companies provide a fast turnaround of a minimum of three days. This is good to know, especially if you want to give the photo as a gift. The last thing you need is to receive the photo after the fact. This requires making sure that you have provided everything the company needs, and that you follow their requests for submission. Otherwise, production can be delayed. So, if you have done your part, you can expect the company to do their part.

Country Music

May 16th, 2009 by admin

Many of my friends are graduating college in a few days.  We therefore thought it fitting to throw a one last big party to commemorate the last four years.  We thought that we would go back to our roots and throw a themed house party like the ones we used to have before we all turned 21.  We decided on the theme of “One Last Rodeo” and all dressed up as cowboys and cowgirls.  Naturally, we also had to create a large country playlist to go along with our theme; which is actually really funny because none of us really like country music all that much.  But we compiled a list of pretty good hits to keep the party lively and awesome.  I decided to go and find an online guitar community so I can go learn how to play the guitar like the people I heard.

Taking File Sharing To A Whole New Level

April 27th, 2009 by admin

File sharing is something that I have been interested in ever since I was in college.  I remember sitting around my computer thinking of files that i could be downloading.  My room mate and I would sit there for hours thinking of new files to download.  Then one day there was all this talk about how they were going to shut them down.  That is when I realized that i needed to find a new system.  One day I stumbled upon ares and haven’t looked back.  They are not corporately funded so the official people don’t come after them.  I am safe to do as I please here.
