Income Protection

A friend of mine had his own business, and after working hard for five years, arranged his first holiday with his wife, a skiing trip to Aspen. In what seemed an unfair ‘Act of God’, one of his boot clips came undone, sending him hurtling down the slope, breaking his left ankle and right wrist. Upon arriving back home, in a foul mood, mind you, he was told to take 12 weeks off work. Now, you may think I’m about to tell a sad story of income lost and a bankrupt business, but I won’t. The first thing my friend arranged when he set up his business was income protection insurance. For those 12 weeks, he could relax, knowing his business was not going into ruin. He’s back at work now, and with his business still doing well, he’s planning his next trip, far away from any kind of snowfield.
