D. are required at purchase and the supplier must comply with laws governing the appears and materials.However as the laws were not applied to Scotland and N Ireland there was a loophole whereby they could be supplied over the internet to buyers in England and Wales. This loophole has now been closed and suppliers in all the u.k. are bound to the same laws. Eire is not covered however so the loophole may still exist.
