Whiskeytown National Recreation Area near Redding is a terrific place to spend a day or a few nights on a camping trip. Whiskeytown Lake offers visitors the opportunity to fish, take a boat ride, or swim and relax on the beach. There are also many trails to explore throughout the Park. You can hike, mountain bike, horseback ride or take a 4-wheel tour at Whiskeytown Park. Although the four beaches and the cool, clear waters of Whiskeytown Lake are one of its biggest attractions, hikers at Whiskeytown Park enjoy seeing the four impressive waterfalls here. There are two picnic sites at Crystal Creek Falls if you would like to enjoy a spectacular view of waterfalls during lunch. There are also eight streams at the Park that are accessible via the trails here, and there are many opportunities to view wildlife and watch for birds.RV, tent and primitive camping is available at Whiskeytown, and boats can be launched at Brandy Creek Marina, Oak Bottom and Whiskey Creek.
