The Empire State Building is easily one of the most distinguishable features on the New York skyline. The construction on the building finished in 1931, and by 1933, the building made cinematic history when King Kong climbed to the top in the old black and white film. Since then, it has appeared in countless movies and televisions shows, and people around the world know what it looks like. Because of its wide exposure as a New York City icon, it is one of the most visited tourist spots in the whole city. From the top of the 102-story building, one can see as far as eighty miles on a clear day. This is one of the best ways to take in the whole city as it sprawls below. At night, the city looks amazing from the observatories, and it offers a very different experience from what people see during the day. No trip to New York City would be complete without a visit to the top of the Empire State Building. Even those who make the city their home enjoy making the trip to enjoy the sights that you can’t get anywhere else. It is not something you can miss.
